Dedicated to my parents and family who introduced me to cycling which has give me so much pleasure and happy memories over the years.

Two Mills Route

A short 13km (8mile) pleasant cycle route incorporating two important Mills, both worth a visit.

Being on the River Test, Whitchurch has several Mills, all easily accessible by cycle. Two are open to the public.

Whitchurch Silk Mill is a small historic working mill, weaving silk since 1817, while nearby Laverstoke Mill once home of bank note production is now a gin distilleryfor Bombay Sapphire with a large visitors' centre that opened in 2014.

Neither should be missed and a cycle ride between them on quiet country lanes is the perfect way to visit. The route on country lanes is best described as 'rolling' and can be done in either direction.

Refreshments are available at both mills, as well as in Whitchurch.
